I paint, mostly self taught, on a variety of canvas sizes, but I do enjoy doing large pieces. Some of my large ones were done on the floor before being stretched.

My media is mainly oil and I like heavy paint and layering of lots of colors.

Subject matter comes a lot from the surrounding area. Virginia has lots to offer in landscapes and related inspiration, but often it's my own imagination that produces the end result. Other influences for me come from other art and artists. Impressionist Monet, VanGogh and American Childe Hassam are among my favorites. I would have to say my biggest influence comes from abstract action painter, Jackson Pollock. I've always admired his work.
